Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid (SI)
Chairman, Punjab Higher Education Commission (HEC Punjab)
Asslam O Alikum!
It is a privilege for me to announce a new program DigiPAKISTAN launched to train the youth of Pakistan in Information Technology Skills Development, to support the government initiative in capacity building, increasing the competencies of our graduates, particularly in online education, and providing them with skills that are very important to enhance their capabilities for further employment. DigiPAKISTAN initiative is doing quite well, and I am sure that the programs, short courses, lectures, webinars, and other modules of training would be very useful for the youth of our country.
We have to see how we can create opportunities at the Government level and at the private sector level to enhance employment opportunities. This is one of the big policy requirements of the government: how we can increase employment opportunities not only within the country but also outside Pakistan. We are living in a world that is changing very fast. Now with the digital platform and e-Learning, smart learning has facilitated and allowed us to create new opportunities for educational technology, providing facilities so that we can create different platforms for students and graduates to improve their skills.
In modern times, knowledge is essential, but at the same time, skills and attitude are critical. We have to ensure that our curriculum, programs, and degree courses include these elements. At the Punjab Higher Education Commission (HEC Punjab) and the Pakistan Engineering Council, we focus on creating opportunities for institutions and providing training for teachers to enhance their professional competency. This ensures they impart quality education within the country. I'm confident that DigiPAKISTAN will be another important initiative creating opportunities for the youth of our country.
DigiPAKISTAN provides our youth with a platform to share experiences and gain knowledge from resource persons across various sectors, including economy, education, health, manufacturing, engineering, technology, and science. This initiative fosters a learning environment for the students and graduates of our country, enabling them to improve and excel in their respective fields.
